FRP Linings: The Ultimate Protection for Chemical Tanks

FRP Linings: The Ultimate Protection for Chemical Tanks

In industrial plants, concrete tanks are frequently used to store highly corrosive chemicals, wastewater, and acids. Bare concrete will deteriorate rapidly under these conditions, leading to environmental contamination and massive repair costs.

What is FRP Lining?

FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) lining involves laminating the interior of the concrete tank with layers of high-grade fiberglass mats saturated in chemically resistant premium resins (like Vinyl Ester or Bisphenol Epoxy).

Key Advantages

  • Total Chemical Resistance: Immune to aggressive acids, alkalis, and solvents.
  • Structural Reinforcement: The glass fibers add immense tensile strength, bridging minor concrete cracks.
  • Zero Permeability: Creates an absolutely seamless, monolithic tub inside the concrete.

Sichern Engineering undertakes specialized FRP lining contracts for effluent treatment plants (ETPs), acid storage tanks, and industrial gutters to ensure safe, long-term chemical containment.
