Curing Compounds vs. Water Curing for Fresh Concrete

Curing Compounds vs. Water Curing for Fresh Concrete

Concrete does not "dry"; it cures through a chemical reaction called hydration. If the water inside the concrete mix evaporates too quickly to the sun and wind, the hydration stops prematurely, resulting in weak, severely cracked concrete.

The Problem with Water Curing

Traditionally, contractors continuously spray water over fresh concrete or cover it with wet burlap for 7 to 14 days. On massive commercial projects, this process is labor-intensive, wastes thousands of gallons of water, and is practically impossible on vertical columns.

The Efficiency of Liquid Curing Compounds

At Sichern Engineering, we supply high-efficiency resin and wax-based curing compounds.

By spraying a single coat of this liquid chemical immediately after finishing the concrete, it forms a temporary thin film that seals the moisture inside. This guarantees optimal curing strength with zero maintenance required.

Available as clear or white-pigmented (to reflect solar heat), our curing compounds are essential for saving time and labor on modern construction sites.
